May the Road Rise to Meet You

We had a beautiful weekend in New York to celebrate the life of a good man.  Eric's grandfather, and Madeline's great grandfather, passed away last week.

Even though Madeline won't remember her great grandfather, Eric and I feel very lucky that they got to meet one another.  It's amazing to watch life flow from generation to generation.

They read this at his services:

May the road rise to meet you.  May the wind be always at your back.  May the sun shine warm upon your face.  May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, May the Lord hold you in the palm of His hand.

Grear Grandpa Doo loved his little only Great Grand Daughter he would say "I can't believe that I have a beautiful Great Grand Daughter and she has the prettiest red hair!"
